Apoptosis & Caspase Kits

These kits utilize two link fluorophores or fluorophores linked to an inhibitor, both by a specific amino acid sequence that is recognized by the caspase of interest. While linked, the fluorophores show nearly background fluorescence. Caspase activation cleaves the specific amino acids releasing the fluorophores and allowing them to fluoresce. This allows for a direct measure of activated caspase activity. Also, the further the cell progresses through apoptosis, the brighter the fluorescence.
