Vapor-Vac

Much confusion surrounds the issue of using In-House Vacuum for WAG (Waste Anesthetic Gas) management. Until MIP developed the Vapor-Vac System, there were no clear choices for WAG management in Rodents using in-house vacuum. The Vapor-Vac is a kit. Most components necessary to use in-house vacuum are included in the kit. It is easily modified to be used with quick disconnects and/or other connectors to in-house vacuum. The Vapor-Vac is available as a 2-station system (Induction Chamber and NRB system) or a 3-station system (Induction Chamber, NRB and Stereotaxic device). This system has been independently tested at 3 prestitious institutions in the US. It is simple, effective, and relatively inexpensive.

SCOOP
(AS-01-0521)

The only proven WAG management device for sterotaxic inhalant anesthesia. The SCOOP's efficacy has been independently tested by EH&S engineers using the Foxboro Miran.

Requires attenuated in-house vacuum assembly AS-01-0522

Problem: Sterotaxic nose cones for use with inhalant anesthesia have a notch underneath through which WAGs can pass into the workplace. Anesthetic gases will follow the path of least resistance, and through testing we have discovered that a large component of the WAGs do not exit through the exhaust side of the nose cone but simply drop down through the notch.

Solution: MIP's SCOOP and in-house vacuum attenuation kit are proven to reduce WAGs in the workplace to well below the 2 ppm in 1 hour tolerance mandated by OSHA. Our patented SCOOP has been tested at three prestigious institutions with all testing results passing OSHA's rigorous standards.

MIP PN: AS-01-0522
Dual flowmeter manifold for in-house vacuum includes coded tubing, stopcock, quick release connectors, mounting bracket, and instrucitons. We know the proper flowrate for maximum efficacy. We preset the negative flow so that the operator simply turns the stopcock on to activate or off to deactivate the SCOOP. No guesswork. Our technicians are available to assist installation and insure that the negative flowrate is properly set.

Chamber-Vac
(AS-01-0459)

This device facilitates removal of WAG's in induction chamber. It is used with direct in-house vacuum. The Chamber-Vac is used with the Vapor-Vac.
